Top LARGE Youth Sports Organizations

  • AYSO Leeward Region 269: Kapolei, HI

AYSO Leeward 269 used the Spread The Word tool that Responsible Sports provided in order to rally our community and it paid off! We plan to use the grant money to help fund Hawaii AYSO teams who are participating in the 2012 AYSO National Games in Knoxville, Tennessee!

  • Champions Wrestling Club: Mapleton, UT

We would like to express our sincere appreciation for this opportunity. There is great value in having parents and coaches learn the fundamentals of responsible parenting in a sports environment through your course work. We have had discussions about making it mandatory for parents to complete the coursework next year. We believe that changing the way that parents approach their roles when it comes to sports is very important and we see immense value in the programs you have developed. We look forward to further implementing these things into our club. The money is great, but the changes we are seeing in our wrestlers as a result of parents learning things from your materials is even better. We plan to use this much needed financial assistance to help update our facilities, provide added opportunities to club members and to supplement our growth efforts!

  • Oyster River Youth Association: Durham, NH

The Oyster River community is very grateful for having the opportunity to participate in the Responsible Sports grant program. Winning the grant is a true testament to the support our organization has from members of the community. The grant will be used toward the development of much needed additional field space. We cannot thank Liberty Mutual enough for this financial assistance!

  • West Madison Polar Caps: Madison, WI

The Responsible Sports quiz has given us a shared vocabulary to talk about how to be better sports parents and we are thrilled on winning the Responsible Sports Community Grant. We plan to use the funds as part of our general operating costs. The funds raised will be part of the program we have in place that reduces the average skater fees by $70/family. This year, more people than ever asked for financial assitance. These funds will help us to keep our program affordable.

  • EOTO Basketball Assocation : Flowery Branch, GA

Our organization is so proud to be supported by Responsible Sports. In addition, each of our parents, and administrators learned the importance of being a responsible coach and parent. Even the players learned a lot about the importance of being responsible for their actions on and off of the basketball court. This grant means so much to this team. We are in desperate need of uniforms and new equipment. In addition, the grant will be used to pay for tournament entry and gym usage fees. THANK YOU!

We are super excited about winning the grant and so grateful to Liberty Mutual and Responsible Sports for their generosity and support to our soccer club. This grant affords us the opportunity to go into next season without trying to figure out where money will come from – allowing our players, coaches and parents to focus on training and having fun. We are especially proud of our parents for their support on helping us win this grant. We could not have done this without their help. The SA FIRE Soccer Club plans to use the grant to help offset tournament costs, training fees and equipment and field expenses.

  • Silver Starlites: Pawling, NY

We are very excited about winning the grant! Our team travels out of state for competitions and to Nationals every year so the costs really add up. We plan on putting the money towards our entry fees to Nationals and to cover any additional cost that involves us traveling.

Top SCHOOL Sports Organizations

  • Blackman Middle School - Baseball : Murfreesboro, TN

Our team feels so blessed to be able to earn the grant money. We will use the grant to help fund the building project to build a concession/restroom facility at our baseball field. We hope that with the help of this grant, that we are able to complete our project in the summer of 2012.

  • Franklin Simpson High School: FRANKLIN, KY

We are very excited and grateful to receive the grant. Our teams and boosters work very hard every year to raise the funds needed to provide necessary equipment, uniforms and facilities. This will be a tremendous help. This grant will provide us with the ability to make some improvements on our fields and also help pay the cost of practicing at a local indoor facility.

  • Marana High School Dance Team: Tucson, AZ

We used a number of avenues for generating support for our cause. One way was to send emails out to all staff members of our school district reminding them to take the quiz and to encourage others to do so. There are numerous costs associated with being on a dance team and competing on a national level including costumes and accessories, choreography, dance camp, competition fees, travel expenses, etc. We will use this grant to offset these costs.

  • McFadden School of Excellence: Murfreesboro, TN

The McFadden School is very excited to win this grant and we want to extend our gratitude to Liberty Mutual and Responsible Sports for providing this grant opportunity to organizations in need across the country! We plan to use the grant money to offset annual costs for our athletic teams.

  • Whitman Hanson Regional High School: Whitman , MA

With such tough economic times, our athletic budget has really been hit hard. This grant will certainly help us sustain our programs. But the best part of winning the grant was seeing our community come together and work for a common goal. The added benefit is that all of these parents and community members went to the Responsible Sports website which is loaded with valuable information and tips on how to make sports a positive experience for all involved. This grant will help us with athletic transportation and spring athletic events. We were probably going to have to have more cut backs in our department but now we should be able to keep everything in tact!
